Our Endometrial Thickness Scan examines the lining of the womb to assess its suitability for implantation. This scan is specifically designed for those undergoing fertility treatment.
- We will do our best to accommodate the date and time requested by your treatment provider.
- Please note, this scan is not suitable for postmenopausal women.
- It is important to understand that this scan does not include cancer screening. If you are already under the care of your local hospital, we recommend having all scans conducted by your healthcare provider.
- All women’s health scans are performed by a qualified diagnostic sonographer.
- These scans will be conducted transvaginally.
- This scan is available to women over 18 years old or to those aged 16 and 17 who are accompanied by a responsible adult.
- Please note, this is not a pregnancy scan. If you have received a positive pregnancy test, you will be directed to book an early pregnancy scan.

- Can I Bring People to My Scan?
Yes, this won’t be a problem. You can bring up to one additional adult guest to your scan. Some clinics may allow up to two adult guests, but please confirm this with your local clinic before your appointment. - Before Your Early Scan
If you are under 10 weeks, a trans-vaginal scan is medically recommended to provide more accurate diagnostic results. For trans-vaginal scans, a full bladder is not necessary. If you prefer an abdominal scan, please arrive with a full bladder for your appointment. - I Haven’t Seen My Midwife Yet
You can still come for a scan even if you haven’t had a midwife appointment. If you have seen your midwife or GP and have received any notes, please bring them with you to your appointment.
