Our Early Pregnancy Scan assures mom from as early as 6 weeks + 3days gestation (based on your LMP). Each scan includes a comprehensive medical report. Our highly trained sonographers and clinic staff are committed to offering the best possible Early Pregnancy reassurance Scan from 7 weeks onward.

Early Pregnancy Scan Information

If you feel you may benefit from more frequent scans, please speak with your local clinic. However, we recommend allowing at least two weeks between pregnancy scans.

The primary purpose of this Early Pregnancy Scan is to confirm the viability of an intrauterine pregnancy.

  • Scans typically last 10–15 minutes.

  • You’ll receive a 2D printed scan photo to take home.

  • All early scans are performed by NHS medically qualified diagnostic sonographers.

This service is available from 6 weeks + 3 days of pregnancy. We perform the scan transabdominally, with your consent.

If you’re unsure of your last menstrual period (LMP) or have irregular cycles, you’ll be asked to confirm the date of your first positive pregnancy test. Your appointment will then be scheduled for two weeks after that date to ensure optimal accuracy.

This scan is available to:

  • Women over 18 years of age, or

  • Those aged 17, provided they are accompanied by a responsible adult.

  • Please note: a positive pregnancy test result is required to book a scan.
