Our NIPT Test replaces the Harmony Test, which is currently unavailable. You can also opt to include a Dating Scan with your NIPT Test booking, as a replacement for the combined Harmony Test + Dating Scan service.

What is an NIPT Test? The NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing) Test is a blood test that analyzes the baby’s DNA present in the mother’s blood to screen for specific chromosomal abnormalities.

The NIPT Test involves a safe blood draw performed by our qualified phlebotomists. The blood sample is then screened at our partner lab for chromosomal abnormalities such as Down Syndrome, Edwards Syndrome, and Patau Syndrome.

You have the option to add a Dating Scan alongside your NIPT Test by selecting the appropriate option during booking.

How accurate is the NIPT Test? Our partner lab reports that the NIPT Test demonstrates over 99% accuracy, with sensitivity and specificity levels of ≥99% for trisomies 13, 18, and 21.

How early can the NIPT Test be performed? The NIPT Test can be conducted as early as 10 weeks into pregnancy, according to our partner lab.

Who is eligible for the NIPT Test? The NIPT Test is suitable for all pregnant women who are 10 weeks or more into their pregnancy.

Additional options for the NIPT Test: You can enhance your NIPT Test by adding a ‘Sex Chromosome Panel’ or a ‘Sex Chromosome Panel/Gender’ during your booking process. Simply select these options in the ‘Add to your appointment’ section.

1. Can I Bring People to My Scan?
   Yes, this won’t be a problem. You can bring up to one additional adult guest to your scan. Some clinics may allow up to two adult guests, but please confirm this with your local clinic before your appointment.
2. Before Your Early Scan
   If you are under 10 weeks, a trans-vaginal scan is medically recommended to provide more accurate diagnostic results. For trans-vaginal scans, a full bladder is not necessary. If you prefer an abdominal scan, please arrive with a full bladder for your appointment.
3. I Haven’t Seen My Midwife Yet
   You can still come for a scan even if you haven’t had a midwife appointment. If you have seen your midwife or GP and have received any notes, please bring them with you to your appointment.
