Well-Being Scan
Confirmation of Single/Multiple Pregnancies
We will confirm whether there is one baby or more.
Heartbeat Visualization
The sonographer will examine the four chambers of the heart and listen to the heartbeat.
Baby & Placenta Position
The sonographer will assess the position of the baby and the placenta.
Abdominal Contents & Brain
Our sonographer will observe the baby’s brain and abdominal contents.
Detection of Some Abnormalities
Some anomalies can be detected during this scan. However, this is not as comprehensive as the 20-week NHS anomaly scan and cannot detect many anomalies that the NHS scan can.

- Does the Scan Include Photo Prints?
Our Well-being scan does not include any prints, but you can purchase them on the day of your appointment if you wish. - What if I Need Further Care?
If your sonographer identifies something of concern, the team will arrange an appointment at your local NHS trust for ongoing care. You will receive full details of our findings to take with you to your next appointment. - Before My Well-being Scan
You MUST be attending NHS antenatal care and undergoing ultrasound screening with the NHS. We ask our mums to arrive with a reasonably full bladder and ensure they are hydrated. This allows plenty of fluid around the baby, which helps with the overall quality of the well-being scan. We recommend drinking 1-2 glasses of water an hour before your appointment. Please bring your hospital notes from previous appointments in case our Sonographer needs to refer to them.
