Dating Scan Details

Our Dating Scan provides early pregnancy assurance to women from as early as 6 weeks, or two weeks following a first positive pregnancy test if LMP is unknown. Each scan includes a detailed medical report. Our expertly trained sonographers and clinic team are dedicated to offering the best possible reassurance from 6 weeks gestation.

• If you feel you would benefit from more frequent scans, please speak with your local clinic. However, a minimum interval of 2 weeks between scans is recommended.
• The primary purpose of this scan is to confirm pregnancy dating and assess health.
• The scans typically last about 10 minutes, and you will receive a 2D scan picture to take home as a keepsake.
• All early scans are performed by a qualified diagnostic sonographer.
• Since this package is available from 6 weeks, it is medically recommended that the scan be conducted transvaginally, with consent, for pregnancies under 10 weeks. We will always consult with you before your scan; if you prefer an abdominal scan, please let us know.
• If you are unsure of your LMP or have irregular cycles, you will be asked to confirm the date of your first positive pregnancy test. We will then schedule your appointment two weeks from this date to ensure you are at least 6 weeks gestation. Results may be unclear prior to this gestation.
• This scan is available to women over 18 years of age, or to those aged 16 and 17 who are accompanied by a responsible adult.
• Please note, a positive pregnancy test result is required to book a scan with Bonding before birth.
